Hyaluronic acid is far from just helping you look fresh and youthful. Why should you think about replenishing it regularly?
The loss of hyaluronic acid starts from about the age of 25 and by the age of 40 we have only half of it. Therefore, its replenishment can do wonders not only with our appearance, but also with our overall condition.
Hyaluronic acid is found virtually throughout our bodies. As we age, it becomes less and less, so it's a good idea to replenish it. But what does hyaluronic acid actually do? Its best-known property is that it binds water to itself. We call it "hydrating". It's not just about hydrating the skin, but hydrating all tissues, including mucous membranes. If our body is not hydrated enough, it will not function properly.
Another of its amazing abilities is lubrication. It acts as a natural lubricant for our eyes and especially the entire joint system. In order for a joint to function as it should, it must be lubricated (lubricated). There is a fluid (synovial fluid) in the joints that has a high content of hyaluronic acid and this ensures that movement is smooth. However, if the lubricant runs out, we can hear peeling, cracking and quite often feel an uncomfortable sensation that develops over time into "pain".
The third most important property of hyaluronic acid is its anti-inflammatory action. If we have enough hyaluronic acid, everything heals faster, whether it's recovering from an injury or after surgery.
In medicine, hyaluronic acid has an irreplaceable place. Dermatologists use it in dermal fillers to address wrinkles and hydrate the skin. In orthopaedics, it is also used in injections, into joint crevices, to keep joints functioning properly. Urologists infuse (instill) it into the bladder for urological inflammation. In the treatment of wounds, it is used as part of covering materials because of its anti-inflammatory ability. Ophthalmologists drip it into the eyes. There are many more examples.
High molecular weight and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid
Which is better? Both are important! In cosmetics, high molecular stays on the surface of the skin and hydrates the surface layers. This is because the molecule is large and does not reach deeper into the skin layers. Low molecular has a smaller molecule and this penetrates the skin better and gets deeper. So if we want to moisturise the surface of the skin and nothing else, we choose high molecular products. However, if we want the second layer of the skin (dermis) to be hydrated as well, it would be better to choose a product that also offers low molecular weight hyaluronic acid.
How to replenish hyaluronic acid really thoroughly?
If you are using cosmetic products that contain hyaluronic acid, you are doing well. But it only gets into the skin. But it doesn't creep into the deepest layers of the skin. It's a surface thing, not a deep thing.
If you add "lubricating" to the "lubricating", the effect is multiplied. Nowadays, hyaluronic acid is commonly used as a nutritional supplement and has fantastic effects. It can replenish the hyaluronic acid that our bodies no longer make, and you will feel it within a month of starting to use it. There are several forms of hyaluronic acid on the market for internal use.
The most popular is a solution that is pleasant to take, just add it to your drink and drink it. Capsules and tablets are always higher in hyaluronic acid than the solution, as the body can only take a small amount of this form and most is eliminated naturally without benefit. A special form is hyaluronic acid gel for internal use. Whichever method of supplementation you choose, you are doing a lot for yourself.
Hyaluronic acid is not a panacea, but it's not the same without it.
After reading this article, you may think you're reading about some miracle panacea that can do the impossible. The opposite is true. Our body is designed to help itself. However, as we get older, more than one important component is lost, and by simply replenishing it, we return to the days when movement was fluid, skin looked youthful and everything worked as it should.
