Prague Fashion Week is just around the corner. Thanks to Zalando, you can be in the centre of the action without leaving the comfort of your home
Just as anti-epidemic measures have changed our everyday lives, they have also transformed the world of fashion. Few would have imagined not so long ago that spectacular fashion shows, the so-called fashion weeks, would turn into events that could only be attended online. But as international experience has already shown, anything is possible. By "everything" we refer to the Burberry fashion show, for example, which was streamed from the forest during London Fashion Week, but also to the presentation of models at Milan Fashion Week. The Moschino brand used puppets instead of regular models (read: flesh and blood). It is clear that the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week (30 April - 6 May 2021) will be different. Although there won't be a puppet fashion show, there is definitely something to look forward to, thanks to the Zalando Digital Stage.
Autokino and fashion online streaming
As it is not possible to stage classic fashion shows with audience participation due to the still applicable gathering restrictions (which also applies to the usual accompanying programme including after parties), the organisers of MBPFW also had to go down brand new paths. For example, a car cinema will be set up in the parking lot of the Holešovice Market Hall on 1-3 May, where the ongoing shows will be projected in real time on two large screens. But if you prefer the peace of your own living room, you will also appreciate the purely digital project under the auspices of Zalando, the Zalando Digital Stage.
Zalando has decided to respond flexibly to the current necessary changes in the organisation of the event and has prepared a three-day streaming of interviews, videos and, of course, online broadcasts of the shows directly from the centre of the MBPFW action for all fashion fans. Thanks to this, this year's Prague Fashion Week will also be open to those who do not regularly attend. And the programme will definitely be worth it!
The streamed shows will be followed by interviews with the creators. There will also be commentaries by stylist and fashion designer Miro Romaniv (who, at least recently, has certainly been overseeing the wardrobe of his partner Karel "Kovy" Kovář) and presenter Ivana Veselková, known for example from Radio Wave or the podcast Buchty. All the announced materials will then be broadcast online from the Zalando studio located in the MBPFW premises.
However, we can also look forward to various contributions focused on sustainability in the fashion industry, which is undoubtedly a topic that is becoming more and more discussed. This is why Zalando has even created its own exclusive video series, featuring, for example, Adéla Šponerová, representatives of the slow fashion and sustainability magazine Slow Femme, and Martina Cowboy, who works as a stylist and is also a devotee of minimalism.
The Zalando Digital Stage programme will start before noon on Saturday 1 May and will continue until Monday. It can be followed via Facebook here.
