8 destinations where you can spend autumn and winter by the sea
Canary Islands
The Spanish islands (unlike the mainland) are now free to travel again, or as of Monday, 5 October, they are no longer on the list of risk places for Czechs, so there is no longer an obligation to prove a negative test for Covid-19 when returning to the Czech Republic. For example, the largest of the islands, Fuerteventura, offers, in addition to its beautiful beaches and breathtaking scenery, pleasant temperatures all year round, more than 3,000 hours of sunshine and less than 150 mm of rain a year. So you can enjoy swimming and sunbathing even in winter.
Balearic Islands
The same conditions as the Canaries also apply to the Balearic Islands, which include Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca. These islands also promise 300 days of sunshine a year, however, in October you can still warm up here, in November it is more for sightseeing tours or Euro weekends, but even then it will definitely be warmer than in the Czech Republic and the nature is beautiful all year round.
Turkey
" The last and only way to enjoy the sea in Turkey this year is to go there during the autumn holidays. We are offering several tours from 24 to 31 October. This will be the only direct flight to Antalya from Prague. The advantage is zero cancellation. Should the situation change, clients will get all their money back. Turkey does not require a test when entering the country, it is only necessary when returning to the Czech Republic," says Andrea Řezníčková, spokesperson for the Invia travel agency, describing one of the few ways to get to Turkey this year.

Tunisia
In Tunisia, although there is an obligation to present a negative test for Covid-19 when entering the country and restrictions on independent movement, none of this applies to you if you are flying with a travel agency . The same applies to domestic trips. If you get them through an agency, you can go wherever you want," explains Andrea Řezníčková. Autumn is beautiful in Tunisia and the temperatures are not as high as in summer, so the weather is ideal for swimming and excursions.
Egypt
The first renewed charter flight from Prague to Egypt started on 3 October and will fly here every Saturday. Tourists need a negative test for Covid-19 on the way there and on the way back, but with the travel agency Invia, for example, the first test is already included in the price of the trip. The season in this North African country is just beginning, and it is also one of the most popular destinations where Czechs spend Christmas and New Year's Eve, as well as Easter.
Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is on a par with the Maldives in terms of beauty, but there is much more entertainment, a sea of sights and a holiday here also costs significantly less money. What's more, the borders are open to Czechs and the country does not require tourists to take a negative test. This is only required on return to the Czech Republic, or tourists must enter a fortnight's quarantine. The high season here starts at the end of November, but it is common to visit during October.
Maldives
"For clients who want to experience the exotic this year, I would definitely recommend the Maldives. A peaceful destination, without testing. Again, the test is only necessary on return. I was here myself last year and it is a wonderful experience. You just don't get to see the colour of the sea like that. No big hotel complexes, privacy, great service, just you and paradise on earth," says Andrea Řezníčková.
Zanzibar
It is little known that Zanzibar is also accessible to Czech tourists. Only the same obligation as for all non-European countries applies, namely to present a negative test for Covid when returning to the Czech Republic. Everyone will love Zanzibar. Those who want to relax will find peace on the white beaches by the turquoise ocean. If you want to travel at the same time, there are also plenty of excursion destinations. And those who want to experience the real Africa rather than a luxury resort will also be satisfied.
One of the most popular holiday resorts in Zanzibar is the five-star Zuri Zanzibar hotel complex, which offers spacious bungalows with spacious and Jacuzzi-equipped terraces, from which it is only a few metres to the beach. This pearl of Zanzibar is happy to welcome tourists from the Czech Republic even in these challenging times for travel.
