Scooters are a hit again, but this time the electric ones, designed for adults. Why shouldn't you miss this modern means of transport?
The modes of transport from A to B may be different. However, if you need to cover distances of many kilometres, you don't necessarily need to choose just a car or public transport. And since not everyone is tempted to sweat it out on a bicycle, an electric scooter is the way to go (it's not a "kid's toy" anymore!). Although it is a regular means of transport, it also has the advantage that it can be transported on trains, buses and regular public transport, and most importantly - you don't need a driving licence to ride an electric scooter, despite the fact that it can reach a fairly solid average speed of around 30 km/h. But in any case, anyone getting a scooter should also think about safety - and definitely get a helmet. After all, there are many stories of scooter journeys on the internet. But gradually...
The electric scooter boom is a matter of recent years - and it is perhaps quite ironic that these modern means of transport have come to the attention of the general public mainly thanks to (or rather because of) the companies that rent them out in big cities. There would still be nothing wrong with that, however, if users did not subsequently leave them lying around literally anywhere. It is precisely in the context of the fact that scooters have also attracted media attention, when the police have had to remove them from really strange places (and perhaps even fish them out of rivers, etc.) that so-called micro-mobility has received wider attention. And electric scooters, which are now mainly available on the market in standing versions (but there are also models that can be turned into classic scooters with seating options), have gradually become a hit.
However, as we have seen for ourselves, scooter manufacturers have not been focusing (only) on children for a long time - scooters (model by model) can easily transport a person weighing 100 kilos or more, the range depends on the capacity of the battery, but on average a scooter can travel around 25-50 km on a single charge. This also applies to the LAMAX E-Scooter S11600 electric scooter, which, in addition to its excellent riding characteristics and speed of up to 25 km/h, can also attract you with its modern technology (it can be locked via a mobile app, for example) and its very reasonable price - it is available for about CZK 10,000. This alone might convince someone to consider buying an electric scooter. And for those who doubt, we have some more reasons...
Frugality for nature and the wallet
Of course, you can't universally replace a car with a scooter. But those who live close to work, for example, can really try to swap their regular car commute for a scooter, at least on nice days. But scooters are also a solution for those who don't have a driving licence (and cycling doesn't mean much to them...). Besides the fact that thanks to a scooter you can save quite significantly on fuel (especially with the current fuel prices, this alternative can definitely come in handy), at the same time every "scooterist" actually saves nature. In particular, the LAMAX S11600 scooter is equipped with a 350W motor and a large-capacity battery that is recharged even when braking. On average, the scooter can travel about 40 km on a single charge (a stable speed can also be maintained thanks to the cruise control) - while the battery status information is shown on a clear display.
Speed especially
Although the speed of electric scooters is of course not comparable to a car, few people probably need more explanation about the traffic situation in cities during the morning and afternoon rush hours. And then it doesn't matter whether you're in a traffic jam in your own car or in public transport - you can only watch enviously those who manage to escape the extreme traffic, even if it's because they decided to use a different means of transport (we're certainly not encouraging anyone to go on an electric scooter on the Jižní spojka, but there are certainly many ways to use this modern means of transport in Prague). Another great feature of the electric scooter range is that they can be folded quite practically, which makes it possible to take them with you almost anywhere (also thanks to their favourable weight, which is around 13 kg even in the case of the aforementioned LAMAX scooter).
We had the opportunity to test this ourselves, especially moving around in the centre of the metropolis was a real pleasure with this scooter. But the same applies for small trips, for example, the scooter could be easily folded and taken to the countryside in a straight line. Easy, fast, efficient!
A little bit (of safe movement)
Although it is of course possible to "crash" on a scooter (we recommend being especially careful of pedestrians moving around, but also of various small obstacles such as kerbs, rantles etc., which can be really tricky), if one chooses correctly and also thinks about the necessary safety features, this means of transport is also a good tool for keeping fit. After all, constant sitting in a car, train, bus or public transport certainly does not do one any good, so it is no wonder that some experts even liken the consequences of prolonged sitting to the negative effects of smoking on the human body. A scooter, on the other hand, ensures that you are constantly activating your muscles to stay upright, so even though it may not seem like it, a day's trip on a scooter will actually give your body a pretty solid workout. Not to mention the fact that the ride itself is actually an exercise in the fresh air. If you add to this the possibility of using your leg strength in case you are moving, for example, in areas where you can't use all the riding qualities, buying a scooter is de facto a certain investment in health, where safety is not left out.
So of course the LAMAX S1160 scooter also has a complete safety equipment - we ourselves appreciated the high quality brake with high efficiency, which braked immediately after pressing it. In addition, the rear LED warning light flashes when braking and there is also reflective tape on the sides of the wheels - as a rider, everyone is highly visible to other road users. In any case, however, caution is never enough, and at the very least, the aforementioned purchase of a helmet should be a basic rule for anyone aspiring to the title of king/scooter first... But then there is nothing at all to prevent you from successfully and ecologically conquering your first "scooter kilometres".
