New Year's Eve in a crown? Of course you can enjoy it! Here are 18 tips to fill the entire December thirty-first

Today marks the end of 2021. If you're still wondering what to do with this milestone date, get inspired. Even in a time of pandemonium, New Year's Eve can be enjoyed to the max and doesn't require a lot of money or a big party. No matter what you have planned, what matters is how you feel about it.

1. Make a list of decisions

That you don't know what New Year's resolution to make? Try it differently this year. Instead of making big plans, write down your resolutions that are essential to you for the year ahead. Instead of the vapid and somewhat complicated "start exercising," write down, for example, "I will walk home from work."

2. Walk with your suitcase

Doesn't that sound like a strange idea? The source states that some cultures believe that if you walk with your suitcase (empty is fine) around your house on New Year's Eve, you will tune your destiny in a direction that will encourage you to travel! Adventures await!

3. Say goodbye to the old year

How to do it? Simply sit down again over paper and pencil and start writing. What have you accomplished in the past 12 months? What are your regrets? What have you learned? Not only can this be a beautiful way to say goodbye to the past, but the document you've just created can remind you in a few years' time how you did - why not put it in your diary?

4. Write it down!

Now get on your computer right away and enroll in an online course. The instant decision will really force you to undergo a new experience in the new year. And so this time, it won't just be about making plans.

5. Write down your goals

No, it's not enough to just write that you want to quit smoking in 2022. Rather, break it down by quarters, months or even days into what you really want to achieve at that moment. No big dream comes true from one minute to the next, and it's good to map out the process clearly.

6. Get outside during the day!

New Year's Eve is not just an evening. Take a walk in the countryside or explore the city you live in. You may not have noticed for a long time what a nice place it is. Tune in for the midnight countdown in broad daylight, you'll see that you'll enjoy the celebration all the more!

7. Watch a themed film

Go through the list of movies and choose one that relates to the turn of the year. You'll get to experience it twice - for yourself and for the characters in the film that caught your eye.

8. Explore

Before the current year ends, discover something new. One last discovery before the season ends. That you don't know where the alley behind your house leads? Look it up. Always wondered what the name of the dog of the people down the street might be? Ask them!

9.

What does that word mean? Make cats and cats of yourselves! Just goof off. Because clothes not only make the man, they also make the mood. When else can you afford a bold outfit if not on New Year's Eve, when everything sparkles and screams with colour and fun?

10. Pick up the phone!

Think about who matters most to you in life. If these people are not with you right now, call them without delay. One stage ends and a new one begins: Let them know they belong to both for you.

11. How does the country celebrate?

Look on TV or on the Internet to see how our countries celebrate, but also to see what other countries are doing. What decorations do they have? What is going on in important buildings and in the media?

12. Have fun with the decorations

Even preparing for a celebration can be fun. Think of ways to spice up the environment. Even if you're celebrating "just" in your living room, decorate it your way. There are no limits to creativity. And if you're heading out, bring something of yourself to add your own touch to the atmosphere.

13. A clean start

Donate, sell or throw away what you don't need. It may sound uncompromising, but the start of a new year is the perfect opportunity to clean out not only your closets, but your mind as well. Starting tomorrow, with a clean slate!

14. Say thank you

I'm sure you can think of at least one person who has helped you get something done in the past 365 days. It could have been a colleague who pulled a thorn out of your side during an unpleasant task. Maybe a partner comforted you when you weren't feeling well. Or maybe a neighbor helped you mow your garden in the summer when he knew you didn't have time. Thank them for that - you can write a nice note, but even just a kind word will do. It'll make you really happy.

15. Collect memories to keep

Surely you know it - you have a cell phone full of photos, but no album. And gradually, everything gets misplaced, lost, accidentally deleted... How is it possible that our grandmothers had such beautifully organized albums? Because, paradoxically, they had fewer options, so they took care. Do it too.

16. Have fun

It's time not to think, not to fret, and not to worry. Do you just want to sit down with a video game or play your guitar? Do it. And definitely get your loved ones involved.

17. Have a great dinner

What would you have for dinner on the last day of the year? A classic or something exotic? Think of it as an exciting event that you can remember by maybe even preparing it yourself.

18. Dance!

Dancing is undoubtedly an art, but whether you know it or not, you're sure to master some of your specific style. Either with friends or alone, it doesn't matter. Dancing is healthy, fun, and will release any leftover stress from the end of the year. Music is medicine, don't be afraid to give yourself over to it.
