Travel to this exotic destination has been open to Czechs since 25 March. Locals are vaccinated, tourists from South Africa are out of luck
Interest in travelling to this tropical paradise on the east coast of Africa is sure to increase significantly in the coming days. Although the weather here is beautifully stable all year round, there is occasional rain from November to February, so the high season is just beginning. In addition, from 25 March the Seychelles will reopen to the world, with only tourists from South Africa being denied entry.
"As we have seen a sixty per cent increase in tours sold after the opening of the Maldives, we expect a similar boom with the Seychelles. These islands are a similarly beautiful and romantic destination to the Maldives," predicts Andrea Řezníčková, spokesperson for Invia travel agency. To enter the country, all you need is a negative PCR test, no older than 72 hours, online registration, accommodation in an approved establishment and travel insurance.
Don't forget your insurance
"Insurance is defined as valid travel medical insurance thatcoversquarantineaccommodationand clinical care related to Covid-19, if needed. Confirmation of insurance is requiredbeforeboarding the plane. Invia offers such insurance with its tours," adds Řezníčková.
In addition, last year tourists had to skip Seychelles, so this year they will be able to make up for their dream holiday. Their favourite destination was Mahé Island, which was chosen by 60 per cent of Czech tourists," says Řezníčková.
Seychelles is currently one of the safest exotic destinations. At the moment, 70% of the population has been vaccinated and almost all tourism and critical infrastructure workers have received both doses of the vaccine.
Beaches, rainforest, underwater world and golf
The Seychelles is made up of more than 115 islands with beautiful white beaches fringed by typical granite boulders and washed by the Indian Ocean. The most beautiful beaches are Beau Vallon on Mahé and Anse Source d'Argent on La Digue. The Seychelles is fast becoming a favourite with surfers, but it is also one of the world's most beautiful dive sites. The local waters hide one of the most diverse underwater kingdoms in the world. Beginners and experienced divers alike will enjoy admiring the beautifully coloured corals and the wrecks of long-sunken ships.

Less well known is that the Seychelles can also thrill wildlife lovers. Here they can find rainforests, waterfalls, slopes with lush vegetation, diverse flora and fauna and mountains. Hiking is also very popular here, and the trails are very well marked. A nice hike is to the highest peak of the Seychelles, rising to just over 900 m above sea level.
In the middle of Praslin Island, the beautiful Vallée de Mai National Park awaits you, home to the world's most unique wild Seychelles palm trees, which produce giant, double-chambered nuts shaped like a woman's lap. And it is these fruits, called Coco de Mer, that are the Seychelles' national symbol.
"Seychelles also has the advantage of being a rich, happy and modern country. You will be in complete comfort, surrounded by the ocean and nature, and you can even play golf - Seychelles has one of the most beautiful greens in the world," concludes Andrea Řezníčková.
