The hit film comes to life in Prague's Hybernia. Win tickets to a unique performance of "The Greatest Show"
When the musical The Greatest Showman hit US cinemas in late 2017, few people knew what a hit had just been born. The film garnered countless rave reviews, one of the songs was nominated for an Oscar(This Is Me), and the entire soundtrack was "reworked" into a brand new album, with all the hits re-recorded by international singing stars (Pink, Kelly Clarkson, etc.).
And since the fame of "Showman" was really huge, it was the basis for the live singing theatre-musical project The Greatest Show in the Czech Republic. It translates the film's story to the theatre stage and gives all fans of the dreamer and visionary P.T. Barnum the opportunity to enjoy his winding road to success and happiness once again.
Just as in the film, the Hybernia Theatre's boards will not be short of spectacular musical numbers accompanied by a live orchestra, dazzling acrobatic performances and, of course, a whole ensemble of "living curiosities". The fact that this is a truly unique performance is evidenced by the fact that the entire project The Greatest Show is the work of Czech producer Jiří Peter, who not only wrote the script and directed it (together with Hana Hošková), but is also the only one in the world who owns the rights to stage it.
In addition to the pair of singers Jan Kříž and Martin Šemík, who share the lead role of P. T. Barnum, the audience can look forward to Petra Vraspírová, who plays the principal's wife. The live accompaniment of the entire performance will be provided by the orchestra led by bandleader Aleš Hava, and Tokhi & The Groove Army are also an unusual rhythmic support. The temperamental brass band Lovesong Orchestra with bandleader Tomáš Průša will then take the original introduction into their hands.
