They deliver pizzas to overnight guests as well as to visitors who only come for lunch or dinner. The pay can be up to $200 (4,500 CZK) a day, which makes this job attractive not only because of its uniqueness but also because of the decent pay.
Professional sleeper
Professional sleepers often work for luxury hotels and must be able to describe their experiences in detail. Their reviews include not only the comfort of the bed, but also the quality of the pillows, blankets and the overall atmosphere of the room. This type of job is important for hotels that are trying to improve the quality of their service and attract discerning customers. Professional sleepers can earn up to 1,500 euros (37,000 CZK) per month, depending on the hotel and the length of their engagement. Almost the amount of our average salary for sleeping on the job is certainly a dream for many of us.
Surfing instructor for dogs
These are often recruited from the ranks of experienced surfers and dog trainers. They work mainly on California beaches where surfing and outdoor activities are popular. Aside from the actual training, instructors must also keep the dogs safe in the water and ensure that the dogs have the right equipment, such as special flotation vests. Dog surfing instructors can earn between $30 and $50 (700-1100 CZK) per hour, depending on experience and the popularity of their services.
Judge of smell
This job requires an excellent sense of smell and the ability to accurately identify different smells. These "judges" are mainly employed by cosmetics and pharmaceutical companies that develop new products such as deodorants and mouthwashes. The job involves regularly testing new products and evaluating their effectiveness, which involves smelling the breath or armpits of test subjects. The pay for this work can be up to $50,000 a year (i.e. more than 90,000 CZK a month).
Snake venom collector
Snake venom hunters often work in laboratories and pharmaceutical companies that produce antidotes. Their work is extremely risky and requires not only expert knowledge of snake behaviour but also fast and accurate handling of venomous snakes. Hunters must also be mindful of their safety and wear protective equipment to minimize the risk of being bitten. Such a person can earn up to $3,000 (68,000 CZK) a month , depending on the type of snakes and the amount of venom collected.

Professional mourners
This job is popular mainly in China, India and some African countries. Their role is important to ensure that funerals are sufficiently emotional and dignified. Mourners often wear specific clothing and use props to make their performance as convincing as possible. The pay for this work ranges from $50 to $100 (£1,100-2,200) per funeral, depending on the length and intensity of the ceremony.
Chicken sex distinguisher
This job is essential for the poultry industry, where it is important to quickly and accurately distinguish the sex of chickens, which would be a rather difficult job for an automated line. These workers are trained to recognize the subtle differences between males and females, and their work has a significant impact on the efficiency of breeding operations. This work is physically demanding and requires good eyes and quick hands. Wages can be as high as $60 000 (CZK 1 400 000) a year worldwide, but in the Czech Republic it is about CZK 35 000 a month, or just under CZK 500 000 a year.

Electroshocker
Toques, or electric shocks, is a traditional Mexican game where people hold metal handles and get electrocuted for fun to experience their resistance to electric shocks. If you recall the famous scene from the movie Cinderella where Jaroslav Dusek does exactly the same thing, it's something similar. They charge about $3 (less than 70 CZK) for each such game and can earn up to $400 (9,000 CZK) for the weekend. The game is especially popular in Mexico City, especially in the Condesa district, which is known for its nightlife. The job requires not only the technical skills to safely operate the equipment, but also the ability to interact with people and maintain this unconventional pastime throughout the evening.
