If there is health and good people around us, we will also have happiness and everything we need. May 2021 be better than 2020!

My wish for all of us in 2021 is to be determined, to love ourselves and to give our maximum to our relationships with people who are "our blood". What is the necessity after all? To nurture our personality and our peace within us, no one wants our nasty moods. Let's deal with anything uncomfortable diplomatically. If we fret, it will always be water for someone else's mill. We need to kick everything that has been neglected, neglected, neglected, neglected for whatever reason. It's never too late. It always takes some motivation with a clear goal, whether it's things for pleasure, experiences or dreams made manifest. You can't move forward without a motor. The outgoing year was terrible in many ways. The pandemic turned all our lives upside down - at best we started working from home, at worse we lost our jobs or struggled to survive. On several occasions, the government locked us in our homes and cut us off from loved ones. At home, where many unbroken people had to spend time in an environment that was terribly difficult for them. Many more people began to turn to sbarvouven.cz counseling during this period to deal with coming out in the family. Online became our new reality. We at Prague Pride also adopted online and brought many of our activities, including a large part of the festival, online. Still, I am extremely happy that Prague Pride took place this year. It was a sad year from the point of view of LGBT+ people, not least because it showed in all its glory how the government has forgotten us in the crisis. All the measures it has issued have neglected our needs and situation. This just proves time and time again that marriage for all is the only right solution. So what do I wish us all for the new year? That 2021 will bring us back to normal, that it will be normal to kiss, hug, shake hands at a meeting, that these gestures will return to everyday life, that we will not be afraid to be close to each other again. I wish us 2021 to be fair. There will be an election in October, and our choice will greatly affect how marriage turns out for everyone. I wish us all to be healthy above all else!

Pavel and I have been together for 33 years this year. Our life has been like a secret treasure. When no one was looking, we dug it up and hid it again in public. The secret ended only in 2000, when we told our family and journalists about our love. I remember the reactions of the people around us, the long and not always pleasant journey we went through. I know that the younger generation may experience coming out in the same way, even though times have changed for the better in many ways. That's why I wish everyone to come to terms with themselves, thrive and be happy. No matter who they love.

This year has been a challenging one for all of us in the arts, but we have each learned to adapt and innovate our approach to our skills. At the same time, we have returned to our traditional values, which primarily include family and everyday life. Things that we had neglected for a long time. This year has definitely been a year of moving forward and preparing for the year ahead. Just as LUI magazine sees equality among same-sex couples, the rest of us felt equality among ourselves. In fact, this situation has not been easy for any of us. I wish all LUI readers the best of luck for the new year!
