The grandfather with the "third leg" conquers TikTok. A gay sauna story shatters myths about age and sexuality

A video recently went viral on TikTok of user @simply.underrated0, a gay sauna worker, sharing a bizarre, touching and funny experience with a 93-year-old customer. The story gained viral status not only because of its surprising content, but also because of how naturally and without prejudice it shows an otherwise little-seen face of the queer world - one where sexuality and desire persist long past retirement age.

"I saw his ID. Year of birth 1932. I didn't even ask him to pay admission. I said, 'That's cool, come in,'" TikToker narrates in the video, which has hundreds of thousands of views. The man, whom he described as "the nicest person in the world," also left him a $20 tip.

But that wasn't all. During his shift, the author of the video noticed that a line began to form around the unassuming senior citizen. "He went in, dropped off, got a towel. When I went to clean up after about half an hour, there was a line of guys waiting for him," he describes. "The guy had such a huge penis that it really freaked me out. He was small, skinny, but he had a 'third leg'."

TikToker goes on to describe how the senior was "surprisingly dominant" in the sauna and how he "definitely managed to earn respect." Although he said you could tell he was a bit older, certainly no one would have guessed he was over 90.

A senior who breaks taboos

Reactions below the video range from amused comments ("I thought it was going to be touching...") to inquisitive questions from people who have no idea what a gay sauna actually is. Some older viewers have adopted the story as proof that "even in your 70s, it's not too late to be sexy." Others take it as a humorous yet profound reminder of how little is said about the sexuality of seniors - especially queer ones.

Gay saunas - or bathhouses - have historically been a haven for queer men to freely explore their sexuality away from public condemnation. Today, they are also becoming a place for intergenerational gatherings.
