Although there were few such platforms, anyone could access them, regardless of age. Which hasn't changed to this day. Moreover, we are no longer just moving around a few closed sites or rooms when it comes to selling or offering the body. Today's options are much more robust.
Whether it's various apps or social networks, where you literally just need a few clicks and you're off for a date in a few minutes, or just type e.g. erotic dating site into a search engine, whereupon dozens of Czech and foreign sites will pop up, promising you to fuck the most perfect neighbours, ideally tonight. Is it really that simple?
In the case of all the possible apps, it certainly is, but let's take a brief look today at the case where you open a search engine in the classic way and type in those two magic words. That's what my friend Peter did, and he invited me to watch his little experiment, where he wondered two things - whether he could meet someone for one night through a random selection of what the search engine offered him, and how much it would cost him.
Two sites caught his eye - Lover's Datebook and Hot Nights.
Dating for singles
The Lover's Dating site is intended to provide an interesting, and certainly much sought after, option. To establish an erotic relationship with a committed person. The information on the site states that the partners Stepanka and Martin are responsible for the site, and they also tell why the site was created. After reviewing further details, it is clear that Petr managed to get into a normal, and moreover truly Czech, dating site on his first attempt.
Here comes the traditional registration, which is free. Everything is simple, clear. Incoming mail, chat, classifieds, and not to be missed is the V.I.P. section, where Petr doesn't look yet. First, he tries to search for an advert from a woman in the vicinity. And here we see the first interesting thing. The page boasts the subtitle: Czech sex dating site for single people (30+), but the first time you go through the ads you see that this is not true at all.
You can find here ladies even 18 years old (at least that's what they claim), singles who are looking not only for sex, but also for a chat, friendship or occasional secret chat. In short, the usual dating site you'd find in any newspaper supplement. But so be it, Peter seeks out an older woman who offers a lover's opportunity when her husband is away. He writes her a note and keeps looking. He discovers a 20-something lady who offers a casual date and possible friendship. Another message flies into the mailbox.
The first lady actually replies after a while, whereupon comes interesting fact number two - her reply can only be read after entering the V.I.P. section. There it is. So how much is it going to cost? The offer is now a special 599 CZK instead of the usual 1 169 CZK. The promotion is only supposed to be valid for a few more hours, anyway, even after a week of the experiment the amount is still in the promotional section, so it's probably not that exclusive. However, the payment is a one-time payment, valid basically for life and without any additional fees.
We're looking into the terms and conditions, and the money is said to be refundable within 14 days without giving any reason. Both Martin and Stephanie promise that neither of the women's profiles are fake, or rather, that you won't get attacked by a regular AI chatbot through them. Peter sends payment. Two hours later, he becomes a V.I.P. member.
That's when we can jump back into the conversation. He starts chatting with an older lady who says she'd like to meet as soon as possible and explores Peter's preferences. So they text each other what they expect from each other. This conversation was going in a very interesting direction, but work intervened and Peter had to end the conversation. They arranged to meet tomorrow, the other lady still without a reply. I examined the contents of the site some more and another interesting thing came up.
Stepanka and Martin recommend to have a profile photo without face, in neutral environment and blurred. Even that is not completely followed here. It really looks like someone just flipped the ads from Annonce to the web. Total chaos. At least it all looks real though, I'm not describing AI bots here.
The next day, the conversation with the lady continues, and finally the lady speaks up. In the meantime, Peter has managed to write to about 20 other women with a general greeting and a reply to their ad, supposedly to test how many of them will write back. I'll tell you the result straight away - within three days, only one wrote back. And she wasn't even interested in further acquaintance.
The lady wants to know more details, the lady directly refers to her WhatsApp, she says she doesn't get message notifications here. We're waiting for some kind of scam to actually come. The lady has no problem with the meeting, she says she will do absolutely anything on it, but wants money for it. Specifically, 4,000 CZK so she can take the dog to the vet. She sends one half-naked photo so that Peter has something to look forward to. And from then on, she refuses to communicate until she gets the money in her account.
So we put our hopes in the lady, but after another hour we are equally disappointed. After we agree on a specific date for the meeting, she comes with an unexpected revelation - she wants money too, even 5000 CZK. She says she has never done what she promised Peter before and wants a hefty reward for it. We pick 10 more women, write a note and leave everything until the next day. And again, no one wrote back.
After a week, Peter decides to end his profile here and wants his money back. Will he succeed? According to the rules, he has to write an email to support asking for the account to be deleted and the money refunded. The next day the money was returned to the account, so all is well. It's just that the lover's tryst somehow didn't happen.
How to evaluate the Lover's Dating Site? It certainly cannot be described as a scam, there are real people there and legally everything seems to be fine. Unfortunately, the content is just not what is promised. After contacting more than 30 women, only three responded, two of them wanted money for the meetings and the third didn't even want the meeting. No one else got in touch. Even in the local chat room, no one responded. For the six hundred, I'd rather go to a restaurant, a bar or a disco, where the meeting would be a bit more certain.
Hot night? More like an ice shower.
I can be a lot more succinct with the second site I chose. This is a complete scam. You can tell just from the landing page, which is full of strange word phrases and looks like a machine-translated landing page of the original English version. By the way, it's worth pointing out here that a Czech domain does not automatically mean that this is actually a Czech site. Always look at who founded the site, who owns it, etc. You won't find that here at all, which is a pretty strong warning sign.
But Petr thought he at least wanted to see what it looked like inside, so he filled out the registration, again for free, and we set about examining the content. And this was a different ride. As soon as the account was opened, there were already about ten messages in our inbox from beautiful women in the neighborhood wanting to talk about various topics. And one would have even replied to all of them if there wasn't a credit system that announced after a few sentences the need to pay the membership fee.
Here, however, it was no longer a one-time thing; several options were offered with regular payment. However, we were interested in the one-day membership for 30 CZK, which was quite sufficient for our purposes. And then all hell broke loose.
As soon as we entered the paid status, dozens more messages appeared from all sorts of ladies with quite different nicknames, containing random letters and numbers. That would make one even happier, if they weren't obviously AI chatbots. We responded to a few messages and wanted to pick up a certain topic, but in all cases the chatbots responded in a completely nonsensical, off-topic manner and didn't even want to talk about anything.
After 15 minutes, it was clear to both of us that even the 30 CZK was too much for a chat with an AI, so Peter closed the page, saying that the membership would expire the next day and it would be quiet. But that's exactly what didn't happen.
So the next day the one-day membership actually expired, but another, this time three-day, membership automatically started. And it cost about 700 CZK. Through the contact form and via e-mail, Peter wrote to them that he was not interested in this membership, wanted to cancel it and return the money. He would also call the number he found, only it was international and busy.
Three days later the situation repeated itself. The three-day membership was cancelled and a seven-day membership was found, this time for more than 800 CZK. This situation was getting serious, but fortunately, at the same time, I got an email from support. And another disappointment came again. Nobody will refund the money, since the terms and conditions clearly state that activation of any type of account activates automatic renewal of the subsequent higher version. Yes, it is indeed in the terms and conditions (although again, they are some kind of scripts machine translated into English) and no one has looked at them. Of course, that's valid if you don't deactivate your account before all this.
Someone on the other side then directed us to how to deactivate the account, which is not as easy as creating it, as you have to have a special code generated after quite a complicated search for the deactivation itself, which will come to you within two days. Which it did, the account was deleted and that was the end of the whole anabasis. Or how Peter discovered a dating site for 1500 CZK where you can chat with AI instead of humans.
Yes or no?
It's hard to judge the whole dating scene after two random cases, but believe me, there aren't many of them. I mean, the honest ones. Social networking sites and especially special apps rule the world today. These sites are mostly aimed at the older generations who either don't understand or want technology, or those who are afraid that their boyfriend/girlfriend will find something on their phone.
Either way, it's actually almost pointless to support these marketers. I would venture to say that most erotic dating sites are purely a money grab. It's still best to go out and meet in person. If you can't do that, reach for a vetted app, or at the very least check out the site you're considering - look for reviews, search for site owners, and read the terms and conditions. And as soon as there's anything even slightly suspicious, run away. It will pay off.
