It is not the first time Louis Vuitton has asked some artist to make a collection for them. We have seen Haruki Murakami, Chapman brothers and few others and this time Jeff Koons was the man of choice. When I have found out about this collaboration I was excited to see the result. In my point of view, Koons‘artwork is bold, colourful, sexy and thought provoking. I thought Louis Vuitton can only benefit out of this partnership. You know, make things differently.

Yet, the result is not exactly what I have expected. Jeff Koons just walked to Louvre and apparently stood in front of Mona Lisa thinking „Yeah, let’s put this face on LV handbag!“ And the same happened with Rubens, Fragonard, Titian and Van Gogh. What can I say? „Well, at least Louvre has some high end overpriced souvenirs,“ that’s what I am thinking. Do you think they’re going to sell them in Louvre‘s gift shop? At least he used the shape of his famous bunny on some leather details and keychains. But I expected more from bold Koons.
