Most people love traveling, right? Now we have another good reason to travel. A study in the UK suggests that traveling could improve your health. How? Traveling benefits you by helping you lose weight, feel younger and have more sex!
Benefits of traveling
If you can travel here’s some of the benefits to look forward to. According to Uproxx, Expedia surveyed 31 million travelers who went on holiday. 81 percent of them reported feeling relaxed after vacation. Psychologist Dr. Linda Papadopoulos explains why we feel so good afterwards: “You’re free to do as much or as little as you like, which in turn makes you feel more relaxed. This can help reduce the levels of the stress hormone cortisol…As stress and anxiety decreases, mood increases—bringing many, often unexpected, positive benefits in how we perceive ourselves, motivation and productivity, and our general outlook on life.”
Feel better and be more creative
“Exposure to a healthy amount of sunshine is also believed to increase the brain’s release of the hormone serotonin,” said Dr. Papadopoulos. “Which is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused.” More than two million respondents said that traveling made them more creative.
Have more sex
Do you ask yourself how to boost your sex life? Travel more! One million of the study’s participants said traveling helped their sex drive. Couples who travel together have healthier and happier relationships compared to those who do not travel together.
