The time has come for Alessandro Michele to unveil his latest collection for Gucci. It is the Cruise 2018 collection and the world could get a glimpse of it at Palazzo Pitti in Florence. After a first look at the collection it is really difficult to describe the theme behind it. It is most definitely a colourful pile of clothes. That is a given fact.
And while some of the looks are mesmerizingly beautiful, others look like a thrift shop got into a fight with good old hippie woman seconded by Julius Caesar. I personally like a bit extravagant combinations, but in this case I think Alessandro went overboard. There is everything, fur collars, prints, embroidery, gold, knitwear, denim, stripes, floral and animal motives. Oh and leather shorts too. Everything you can think of…I mean there are pieces I really love, that t-shirt with blue wolf or caesarean golden wreath headband, but it just doesn't go together. One suggestion? Less is more!
